Another outstanding announcement from GeoVera Specialty!  In their drive to respond to agent feedback, GeoVera Specialty Insurance Company (formerly USF&G Specialty) will no longer collect a separate Underwriting Fee for homeowners policies quoted or renewed on or after March 1, 2008. The premiums have been amended to include the amount of the fee and are fully commissionable. This is applicable in the states of AL, AR, FL, OK, SC & TX.

Further great news! Cancellation procedures are also changing! For policies quoted or renewed on or after March 1, 2008, backdated cancellation for duplicate coverage, sale of home, or foreclosure continue to be permitted and are limited to 1 year with adequate proof. Flat cancellations will be processed with no retained premiums or fees. This change is applicable in all states.

Please note: The terms and conditions for policies in effect prior to March 1, 2008 will remain unchanged.

Deductible decrease in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties!!!  New Business quoted 12/27/07 and later and Renewals effective 03/01/08 and  located 3.01 miles or greater from the coast in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, the Windstorm/Hail deductible will be reduced from 5% to 3%.
