Great News! GeoVera Specialty Insurance Company has resumed quoting and binding in the RHQ quoting system effective immediately.  As GeoVera Specialty recognizes the impact to Southern Louisiana as a result of Hurricane Gustav, they have revised the process for quoting and binding in the affected areas (attached) as follows:
 

Quoting Instructions

1)      In order to quickly return to full functionality and to address the needs of the Louisiana marketplace, GeoVera Specialty Insurance Company will be addressing the question of unrepaired damage at time of bind rather than at quote (instructions shown below). Therefore, please quote the property as usual EXCEPT, if the property has sustained MINOR damage** that is unrepaired, please select NO to the following question:

  “Is there any unrepaired damage to your home” under the General Information tab in the RHQ-quoter.

Binding Instructions

After binding in the RHQ system as usual, please follow the instructions below:

a)  If the property did not sustain damage you will note the following:

I have seen the property described on Binder #FL 12345678 and I attest that the property sustained no damage from Hurricane Gustav.
 

b)  If the property did sustain damage which has been repaired you will note the following:  I have seen the property described on Binder #FL 12345678 and I attest that the property sustained damage from Hurricane Gustav and all the repairs have been completed.

3)  If the property has sustained **minor damage which has NOT been repaired, please email the following to Hl_laops@geovera.com within 5 days of binding :
 

a)  Send a minimum of two pictures of the house taken from opposite corners showing the siding and the roof of the house. Please be sure the unrepaired damage is shown in the photos. The risk will be reviewed by underwriting.
 

b)  Include the following statement in the body of the email:  I have seen the property described on Binder #FL 12345678 which I attest, sustained damage from Hurricane Gustav and repairs have not been completed.
 

c)  The email address is Hl_laops@geovera.com. Please include the Binder Number   and “Minor Unrepaired Damage” in the subject line of the email. In the body of the email please include: Binder Number, Producer Code & Producer Name

Your email statements will become part of the application on file with the company.

**Minor damage does not impact usability or have the potential to result in further damage. An example of minor damage would be a partial fence down or some roof shingles blown off.  Minor damage does not substantially increase the liability hazard at the subject property. For instance, a portion of a fence down in the backyard is different than a portion of a fence down that serves as a pool enclosure. Please note that GeoVera Specialty Insurance Company will continue to order inspections.

 The quoting and binding instructions of the preceding page apply to 18 parishes as follows: "Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Lafourche, Livingston, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Terrebonne, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana.
